Privacy policy

This service was designed around data minimisation: it works without accounts, without cookies, without trackers, and it deletes everything automatically.

What we store

Only what a poll needs to function: its title, description, questions and options, the anonymous answers, and coarse timestamps (creation, expiry). Nothing else. Media attached to a poll (image, video, sound) is stored the same way and deleted with it. If you opt in to receive answers by e-mail, that one address is stored with the poll, used solely for those notifications, never shown to participants, removable at any time (admin page or the unsubscribe link in every e-mail) and deleted with the poll. Answers are never linked to a person — the service has no notion of who answered.

What we do not collect

No accounts, no names, no e-mail addresses (except the optional notification address described above). No cookies, no localStorage, no fingerprinting, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party resources are loaded by your browser. Server logs do not record IP addresses; IPs are used only in memory, briefly, to limit abuse (rate limiting) and are never written to disk.

Retention and deletion

Every poll has a mandatory expiry date chosen by its creator (7 days to 1 year). At that date the poll and all its answers are permanently deleted, automatically. The creator can also delete the poll at any time via the admin link, with immediate effect.

Automatic translation

If a visitor explicitly clicks the translation link, the poll’s question text (never the answers) is sent to a free translation service (MyMemory, translated.net — or a self-hosted instance) to display a translation. This happens only on request. Do not put personal data in a poll’s text.

Hosting

The service is hosted on a server located in Switzerland. Data never leaves the server except for the optional translation described above.

Your rights

Under the Swiss nLPD and the EU GDPR you have rights of access, rectification and erasure. Because answers are anonymous, we cannot identify which answers are yours; the poll creator can delete an entire poll instantly via the admin link. For any question or request, contact the controller.

Legal basis

Processing is limited to what is necessary to provide the service you request (creating or answering a poll) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. No profiling, no automated decision-making, and no sale or sharing of data — ever.
